– Experiencing Constant Back Pain?
– Here Are Some Tips To Prevent It
Back pain occurs in various forms. It ranges from a continuous dull ache to sudden sharp pain. It could be caused by a medical condition or disease like arthritis or spinal stenosis or from a fracture or sprain or another accidental injury. Here are some simple strategies to help you prevent back pain.
1. Watch Your Weight
The strength of your backbone increases in proportion to your weight. As a result, when you suddenly gain extra weight, your center of gravity shifts putting extra strain on your back. Ensure you always stay within 10 pounds of your preferred weight.
2. Watch Your Posture
To prevent back-pain, get a chair with a straight back or low-back support. Keep your knees higher than your hips when you’re seated. If standing for long periods of time, keep your head up and stomach tucked in. Do not slouch. Also switch between feet every 5-15 minutes.
3. Exercise More
While limiting exercise when experiencing back pain might seem like a good idea, it won’t ease the pain. Regular physical activity help ease muscle tension and inflammation.
4. Watch Your Sleeping Position
How you sleep affects your back since it is often trapped in the same position for long stretches of time. Sleeping on your stomach can be hard on your back. If you can’t avoid it, put a pillow under your hips. If ypu sleep on your back instead, put one pillow under your knees and put a second one under your lower back.
5. How You Lift Objects Matters Too
When lifting heavy objects, avoid bending over from the waist. Bend your knees while squatting and hold the object close to your body as you stand up. If possible, push heavy objects instead of pulling them.
