Comcast Corp, the largest U.S. cable operator, is in talks to buy Hollywood studio owner DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc for more than $3 billion, The Wall street Journal has reported, citing sources.

Initially, it was not obvious what a deal would mean for DreamWorks Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg, the Journal indicated.

Comcast and DreamWorks were not available to comment outside of regular U.S. business hours.

Comcast Corporation, formerly registered as Comcast Holdings, is an American multinational mass media company and is the largest broadcasting company in the world. By revenue, it is as well the largest cable company in the world.

Notably, it is also the second largest pay-TV company after the AT&T-DirecTV acquisition.

In addition, it is the largest cable TV company and largest home Internet service provider in the United States.

It is the nation’s third largest home telephone service provider. Comcast serves U.S. residential and commercial customers in 40 states and the District of Columbia.
