DIFFERENT WAYS TO BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
To know yourself truthfully and express it authentically, you first need to cultivate a deep and trusting relationship with yourself. Ultimately, this begins with awareness of your thoughts, as well as awareness of your whole-body experience and how you interact with the world each day.
Losing yourself is one of the easiest things to do. By learning to pay attention to your deeper senses and feelings, and by cultivating greater awareness in your life, you can establish a strong connection to yourself and feel confident in knowing what is deeply true for you.
– TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR OWN LIFE
When we deeply and utterly understand that to be true, life takes on a whole new meaning. Whatever has happened until the past moment is gone. This present moment is again yours. And you have the power to do whatever you want with it. Being true to yourself is a life long practice that requires commitment moment to moment, as you grow and evolve. The answer to what is true for you always exists at the core of who you are, if you give yourself the space and time to listen.
– SET BOUNDARIES
Boundaries are all about respect. You should know what is too far in all aspects of your life so that you feel safe. Don’t rush into anything you’re not ready for. There isn’t a rulebook that says you have to go so far by a certain age or at any given time in life, so take things at your own pace.
– KNOW YOUR STRENGTHS
Build on your strengths and weakness will gradually take care of themselves. Learn to embrace your flaws––they are apart of you, and that won’t change. Balance these by acknowledging and making the most of your features and putting your best self forward as much as possible. People will recognize the best in you when you acknowledge this yourself.
– LIVE IN THE MOMENT
This present moment is alive and full of potential. Learning to be mindful tremendously by keeping one in life, as it happens. Whether you are playing,working,hanging out with someone you love, give your awareness to it 100%. I highly recommend a daily mindfulness practice. It has changed the way I relate to life.
– HAVE A VISION
Know what you want, set your goals and have a vision. Make sure to know what kind of person you want to be and what kind of life you would like to lead. Then shape your short-term goals so it is moving you in that direction (or at least not away from it).
