The Nigerian Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, on Thursday, rejected the application by the country’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, seeking Self Disqualification of the Chairman of the tribunal, Danladi Umar.

Saraki through one of his counsels, Oluyele Rapheal informed the tribunal of a pending application for the tribunal Chairman , Danladi Umar to disqualify himself.

In his argument, Rapheal insisted that the application be considered due to the alleged shady dealings of the Chairman.

“There are so many stories of the tribunal Chairman’s dealing with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.”

“I’m here to do my job and have the right to be heard.”

On the contrary, EFCC’s counsel, Rotimi Jacobs urged the tribunal not to entertain the application as he claimed it was not ripe for hearing.
