Anthony Small, a former boxing champion has been charged with encouraging terrorism in connection with a video posted on the social media in September, 2016 following an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
It should be noted that Small a British Commonwealth lightweight champion in 2009, but he quit in 2010. The 36-year old is now a retired professional boxer and Islamic political activist
According to the Metropolitan Police, Small who won the British and Commonwealth titles against Matthew Hall at the MEN arena in Manchester in July 2009 and had went on to defend the titles in November in the same year against Thomas McDonagh in Wigan would appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with a terrorism offense.
It should be noted that in 2014, he was accused of helping two other men travel to Syria to fight for ISIS, and he was arrested after a counter-terrorist police stopped a lorry at Dover carrying twenty people hidden in the back on the way to Donver.
He is now to appear in court on the 24th of January.
