– The students were seen in pain after being flogged mercilessly by the teacher.

– Funke Akindele has called for the teacher’s sack and also that the management of the school be held responsible for their actions.

 

The award winning actress has called for an end to flogging of students in Nigerian schools. She described the video of girls been flogged mercilessly by a teacher and described it has wicked and evil. In the video, a male teacher was seen viciously flogging some females students with a cable and their offense was that they resumed late for school.

The students of Government Science Schools in Eggon, Nassarawa State were flogged fro refusing to resume school on the official day of resumption. The students were seen in pain after being flogged mercilessly by the teacher.

Funke Akindele has called for the teacher’s sack and also that the management of the school be held responsible for their actions also apologize for the harsh treatment meted on the students.

She wrote:

What? Who is this TEACHER flogging these students? What school is this? I’m so sad seeing this and I must say this act is WICKED,EVIL.

“Can’t they be given other punishments? Are they not human beings? What if one of them passes out in the process? What of the injuries inflicted on them? I’m so angry! Tani Tisa yi? Please they should stop this oh,This teacher has to be sacked!!!

“Teach Not Traumatise, No To Flogging, Protect Our Girls, Protect Our Children.” Well it seems Funke Akindele is not the only person that got angered at the video.

The entire social media was enraged by the sight of the teacher flogging the students and calls have been made to ensure that the situation is well manged with the right disciplinary actions taken against the management of the school.
