There is a new feature of Google Search that was launched recently. The new search feature allows for celebrities to answering commonly searched questions about themselves in the form of selfie videos that show up at the top of mobile search results.

Google said that it had started showing the new feature with some celebrities, namely, Priyanka Chopra, Will Ferrell, Tracee Ellis Ross, Gina Rodriguez, Kenan Thompson, Jonathan Yeo, Allison Williams, Dominique Ansel, Nick Jonas, Seth MacFarlane, James Franco, and Mark Wahlberg. They also stated “This feature is presently being showed only on Android mobile users in the United States”. Google is also considering increasing this feature to include lesser known celebs in the upcoming days. The blog post from Google added, “For now, pick up your smartphone to Google search for oe of the persons which are mentioned above this content you just might find a surprise video answer waiting for you”.

For example, if you’re curious how many languages does Priyanka Chopra speak or if Will Ferrell can really play the drums, you can watch a pre-recorded video from Chopra or Ferrell answering the question, offering a “uniquely personal, authentic and delightful touch straight from the source.”

The videos live directly in search show up on the mobile web and through Google-owned apps and not just on a standard website video player or YouTube embed. This new feature if tested corrected and has a good impact will be made available to other parts of the world.
