Rapper Mystikal Gets Indicted on First-Degree Rape Charges
Rapper Mystikal has been indicted on charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. This comes after the rapper, born Michael Lawrence Tyler, was connected to assault case that happened in Shreveport casino in 2016.
According to reports, the 46-year-old is one of three persons who are alleged to be involved in the October 2016 assault. On August 21 last month, Mystikal turned himself in to the authorities where he was arrested and eventually charged. Speaking to reporters who questioned him at the site of his surrender, he said he was there : “to get this business reconciled, get this behind me, man.” He was finally slapped with indictment charges this Tuesday.
Following his indictment, the rapper’s bond was set at $3 million. Two others, Darnell Holman and Tenichia Monieck Watford, were also indicted in the rape and kidnapping case. Holman, 26, who received a similar ruling as Mystikal, also had his bond set at $3 million. Watford, 42, was slapped with one count of obstruction of justice and her bond was set at $500, 000.
Apart from his career as a rapper, Mystikal who also served in the US army appeared in a number of movies. He made his acting debut in the movie I Got The Hook Up (1998) and apart from his movie roles, he also appeared in the TV series We Are the Beginning (2012). His last music album was Tarantula (2001) although he has released a few singles since then.
