THE NIGERIAN 2016 BUDGET: MORE REASONS TO BE WARY

– Nigerians should not depend on this new act as there is so much drama yet to unfold.

– The Nigerian 2016 budget can never be realized as implementations seems impossible.

THE NIGERIAN 2016 BUDGET: MORE REASONS TO BE WARY

Take it or leave it, this year has been the most dramatic so far. First, it started with a brawl we all are in the know about. It was the battle between two music Lords over which of their sons be called Nigeria’s next rated musician.

As usual several words flew, from one camp to another. At the end, peace was the last resort as they could not but reconcile with each other.

On and on, the entertainment industry intrigued us like those popular Nollywood make-beliefs highly mythical unbelievable screenplays that makes you just wonder when ever; that is if ever the directors will come up with better storylines for a prospective Oscar award.

Attention shifted again like the lens of a digital camera seeking a particular shinning spot to focus as we were again taken, back into the world of politics when we first heard that the 2016 budget was missing.

The media was agog, people condemned, others spoke. We all crossed our fingers like those Hollywood movies waiting for the villain to confess their deeds, maybe after the wrath of Buhari and EFCC had caught up with them.

We are already in May. So don’t think about the roads again, the rains are here. This budget is said to focus on 34 priority areas: I wonder where we are going to start from.

Is it from the finance minister’s fiscal policy restructuring, the bilateral trade relationship between China, the down turning economy or jobs that some have been thrown out of.

The world is waiting; Nigerians are eagerly anticipating. For me, I have not much belief in the change mantra that has brought the fuel scarcity hardship, and Fulani herdsmen killings.

One advice for Nigerians is not to depend on this new act that is sure to bring more drama, weeks after. The budget is not the money; it is simply a slip of paper directing how those moneys be disbursed.

There are still more reasons to be wary of the budget. So don’t hope too much on the budget, develop a new business today, and join hands together in good investments.
