– Last month Waqar Youns resigned from being Pakistan’s cricket  team but now, the team has now moved on to secure the service of –Mickey Arthur as new head coach.

PAKISTAN CRICKET: MICKEY ARTHUR NAMED AS HEAD COACH

Following the departure of Waqar Younis  from being Pakistan head coach, the country has now announced the appointment of Mickey  Arthur as the new replacement.

Waqar Younnis was the head coach of the South African national cricket team.

He coached South Africa between 2005 and 2010 while helping the African country to  helped South Africa reach world number one in the International Cricket Council rankings.

He was also the former head coach of South Africa’s Mickey Arthur has been appointed head coach of Pakistan ahead of this summer’s tour of England.

He was also coach of Australia from 2011-13 but was sacked 16 days before the 2013 Ashes series in England.

Former England coach Peter Moores and Australian Stuart Law were among those linked with the position.

With the appointment of Mickey Arthur, Pakistan will be hoping to have a wonderful outing in July,

 

A Pakistan Cricket Board statement said: “It is expected that Mickey Arthur will be able to join the PCB toward the end of this month.

 

“He has confirmed his acceptance of the post of head coach of the Pakistan national cricket team.”

 

The first of four Test matches begins at Lord’s on 14 July, with five one-day internationals and one Twenty20 match to follow.
