PROBLEMS YOUNG ADULTS FACE WHILE DATING

Our ability to feel romantic love develops during adolescence. Most teenagers all over the world notice passionate feelings of attraction.

Even in cultures where people are not allowed to act on or express these feelings, they still do. It’s a natural part of growing up to develop romantic feelings and sexual attractions to others.

These new feelings can be exciting or even confusing at first. I think that some young adults know what they want out of a relationship but they just don’t have it all figured out in terms of how to get there.

It shouldn’t be seen as a knock against them but that many of them are still very idealistic and its necessarily not a bad thing. I do think that this causes them to see some relationship issues through rose colored glasses until they get in the midst of living that life themselves.

IMMATURITY

Immaturity is bound to happen. Young adults are not expected to act like adults at all time but must learn to be assertive. They must also be able to express themselves. Regardless of age, both parties should be satisfied in a relationship.

EDUCATION

No matter how serious or casual a relationship is, it can cause harm to grades. Young adults often lose their focus on education as they concentrate on the relationship with their partners.

IT COULD BE ONE WAY LOVE

One of the many young adults relationship problems is falling for someone that does not love you back. It is painful but does not mean that something is wrong with you.

You are simply not the right person maybe because of the timing or other differences that you may not be aware of. Instead of staying bothered, live a happy life that will attract the right person to you.

PEER PRESSURE

Young adults who may not be comfortable and confident on their own may decide to enter into a relationship just to be part of what they see as the norm. This can be worse if the young adult does not have a strong sense of who they are in the world and what they want in a partner and long-term relationship.

It is important for young adults to be comfortable as singles and to really understand themselves before getting into a relationship.

COMMITMENT CHALLENGES

While trying to figure out who you are going to be – and this can lead to differences in a desire for commitment in young relationships.

It’s common for one person to want a long-term commitment while the other person does not return feelings at the same level, or is simply not ready for a long-term commitment at a young age.

If you the one pushing for commitment, stop and ask yourself what you really want. If you want to enjoy spending time with someone you care about, try to focus on “now” instead of what may happen many years down the road. You still have plenty of growing and developing to do.
