-There is a reason why there are rats in the president’s office.
-The reason has been given by the permanent secretary, Jalai Arabi.
The Permanent Secretary in the state house, Jalal Arabi who spoke when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-governmental Affairs has revealed why there are rats at the presidential villa.
It should be recalled that last year, after the president returned from his medical checkup in the UK, he relocated his office to his official residence after the discovery that his office was infested with rodents.
According to Jalal, there are rats at the president’s office because of the availability of what he called, “eatables” and the location of the villa.
He continued that, “You know Abuja is so blessed with so many eatables, attracting rodents and other animals. You know where the Villa is located, it’s on a valley. You can’t restrict their movement because of the international convention on animal.”
It should be noted that he gave this answer after Senator Joshua Lidani (PDP Gombe) who is a member of the committee asked him if he has made provision for fumigation as the president has not been able to use the office weeks after the discovery.
