– Economic and development agenda of the state unveiled
The second edition of the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit commenced yesterday and will be concluded today 6 April, 2017. Hosted by Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State, the state welcomed many participants to the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KADInvest) which held at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Hall, Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna. The governor, unveiled the state’s Economic Agenda and Development Plan during the summit.
The maiden edition of KADinvest was also a two-day programme which held on the 6th and 7th of April 2016.
Speakers at this year’s event include the Emir of Kano, HRH, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who is keynote speaker and John Odigie Oyegun, The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, who spoke today and presented awards to the state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and his deputy, Honourable Yusuf Barnabas Bala.
This year’s edition showed that Kaduna state had made great strides in consolidating on efforts to make the state business friendly, attract investments and make it a safe and thriving business hub.
Some of the highlights of the event were the commissioning of the Kaduna ICT hub, (supported by Zenith Bank), the commissioning of the $150 Million Olam Poultry Farm, the showcasing of the Kaduna Citizens Feedback App among other laudable initiatives and projects.
The event showcases the state government’s commitment to moving Kaduna state forward into giants strides in terms of empowering its citizen’s particularly the female folk, encouraging innovation and creativity, creating a flourishing business and entrepreneurial environment and ensuring peace and security as well as moving the state in to modern reality.
The session were filled with thought-provoking discussions that were solution oriented and feelers from this second edition of KADInvest shows Kaduna state to be prepared to take the lead in innovation and progress in Northern Nigeria and to become a force to be reckoned with in Nigeria.
The event is to be capped on a high note with the commissioning of the state’s Bus Transit System.
