The University of Texas at Austin United States is currently investigating the death of a freshman student who was murdered.

The University community is currently losing its own as they cannot come to reality with the death of Haruka Weiser who is 18 years of age.

The body of the deceased was discovered in a campus creek on Tuesday. The last time she was seen was when she was leaving the University Drama building on Sunday night.

Several students however were seen gathering to pay their tribute in moments of silence as all students, lecturers, and faculty members are astonished at the death of the teenager.

According to ABC News, it was gathered that the “The Police Department will not rest” until the suspect is arrested, Gay said.

Gay described the campus as “active” at the time the person of interest was seen on campus, with cyclists and students appearing near him, and he hopes one of those people will come forward. Police are offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

“As we struggle to understand why she was killed, if her death can somehow make it safer for a young woman to walk home,” her family said in a statement. “If it will prevent another assault or murder, then at least we could find some meaning behind an otherwise senseless and tragic death.”
