Vaginal Infections you can get during Pregnancy

Bacterial Vaginosis is one of the most infections pregnant women get. Bacterial Vaginosis is the result of an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. It can cause complications if left untreated. Pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis are likely to go into early labor and have an underweight baby.

Here are signs of vaginal infections

Yeast infection
Yeast infection are cause by the candida fungus. Your chance of getting a yeast infection increases when pregnant. Yeast infection caused by an overgrowth of the fungus candida. Yeast infection may not cause complications during pregnancy but it may be difficult to control.

Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis is the mostly common, curable, sexually transmitted disease caused by an organism called trichomoniasis vaginalis. The infection can cause early labor and result in an underweight baby. Symptoms include discomfort while urinating, itching, redness, soreness of the vagina and unusual discharge.

Group B Streptococcus
Group B streptococcus is commonly found in most adults. It is a bacterial infection that can affect the fetus. It can cause problems in those with diabetes and chronic illness like heart disease and heart disease.

Urinary tract infection
Urinary tract infection are caused when bacteria from the outside enter the urinary tract and cause an infection. Urine during pregnancy is more concentrated and contains more sugar which encourages the growth of bacteria. The infection can spread o the kidney and cause permanent damage if left untreated.

Chlamydia treatments
Chlamydia is also one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. Chlamydia can cause premature breaking of the water, preterm labor and birth, low birth weight and inflammation in the uterus. Babies born through chlamydia infected vaginal are at risk of developing infections in the lungs, eyes, nose and throat.

Syphilis
Syphilis can be passed form mother to child during pregnancy. It is a STD that can cause long-term damage if left untreated. Syphilis can cause miscarriages, premature birth or the death of the baby after birth.
